LuminHuman started from a simple frustration: most resumes flatten people into bullet points, and strong candidates still get stopped by an ATS before a human ever sees them. We come from research, journalism, and operations — fields built on figuring out what actually matters, saying it clearly, and getting it done — and we bring that to every client we take on.
Deirdre McGruder
Co-Founder
Deirdre spent two decades in journalism — as a reporter, editor, and online producer across newsrooms including The Charlotte Observer — before moving into user experience research, where she led research for more than a dozen years at major financial institutions including Fidelity, Wells Fargo, U.S. Bank, and BILL.
That mix is the LuminHuman method in one person: the reporter's instinct for the real story, and the researcher's discipline for understanding what an audience actually needs to see. She holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Alabama and an MS in Human Factors in Information Design from Bentley University.
Rukiya Lee
Co-Founder
Rukiya brings more than 16 years of program strategy and alignment across nonprofit, financial services and civic organizations. She has launched new program verticals, served as an interim executive director steering a nonprofit through a leadership transition, and led teams through Agile change as a Certified Scrum Master. Most recently she was a program manager at the Center for Policing Equity, and earlier a technical program manager at Wells Fargo.
At LuminHuman she leads the client experience. Having managed teams and helped decide who makes it through the door, she knows what hiring systems screen for. She holds a B.A. in Sociology from Arizona State University.
